- Ensure that your Canon printer is turned on and has been set up properly.
- Check the cable for any defects if you have connected the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
- If there are any defects in the USB cable, replace it.
- Sometimes the port on your computer to which the printer is connected to might be damaged. So, try connecting the USB cable to another port on your computer.
- If you have connected the printer and computer via a USB hub, try connecting to the computer directly, and restart the computer.
- For network connection, check whether the printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Print a network configuration page on the printer to check the network connectivity.
- Also, make sure your wireless router is turned on.
- If you have connected the printer to a Windows 10 computer, go to Settings and run the Troubleshooter in the Printer section.
- Check whether you can print from your computer.
- If the issue persists, update the scanner driver to the latest version.
- If you are facing the issue while you try to scan using the ScanGear utility, then make sure that you have installed the MP drivers on your computer. If not, install the MP drivers and try to scan.
